In “The Future of Cyber-Sex and Relationship Fidelity: Cyber-Sexuality,” Marlene M. Maheu, Ph.D. attempts to explores the social consequences of now widely available cyber-sexual websites. While she explains that the sexuality has the ability to inspire both the best and worst in human nature, she particularly highlights the dangers of the increasingly realistic pornographic images and experiences in the virtual domain. New technologies will foster an increased development of cyber-sex compulsivity. Those afflicted with cyber-sexual compulsivity pose a looming threat to current forms of monogamy. This will have an adverse affect of children and family, and will influence legal issues, particularly prostitution.
