| The Effects of Pornography on Wives and Marriages (Opinion) |
Pornography use can cause serious marital issues. When her husband uses pornography, a wife feels as if she has just caught him in an extramarital affair. Discovering this information causes damage to her self-image and a loss of respect towards her husband. The husband may not understand his wife's reaction, but the pornography has effects on him as well. He may no longer become aroused by his wife, he may shift from softcore pornography to hardcore pornography, and when he finds that his sexual appetite can no longer be satisfied by these images, he may seek out prostitutes. This is an extremely difficult cycle to break. Couples need to realize there is hope and that they can move towards healing. To start the healing process, husbands must realize the affects their pornography viewing has on their wives and marriages.
